Correspondence (arranged by subject), and publications, but chiefly minutes and agendas of the advisory and steering committees and their various sub-committees, including inter-committee correspondence and correspondence from staff members pertaining to the day-to-day activities of the project. Material re: the project sub-committee of the steering committee figures most prominently, and includes proposals, reports, notices, financial data, and the activities of the funding work group, involving contracts and agreements with various project funders. The publications consist of numerous reports and studies by the project, all under the general title of: Solving the puzzle of child care. Carole Ellison, Nina McLellan, Marcia LaRiche, David Gunning, and Elaine Rocker were officials of the project. The collection pertains to the development of a child care services network in a large metropolitan area. Each phase of the project is well documented, in particular, the difficulties encountered in dealing with both public and private sources of funding.
